Aan is also a novel that shows that when someone wields power over others, regardless of who they are or where they come from, they forget that they will one day be held accountable for their actions. This story centers around Hoorab Sultan, a girl who has always adhered to Islamic principles after being abandoned by her mother due to her sister Aan, who suffered from a heart condition and loved Muhadis.
Muhadis reciprocated her love, but his close friend Messam was also in love with Aan. Aware of this, Muhadis ignored Aan, leading to a severe illness that ultimately caused her death. Overcome with guilt, Muhadis attempted to harm himself, but then he met Hoorab Sultan. Unbeknownst to him, Hoorab was Aan’s sister, but he recognized her from his dreams and later confirmed this by noticing marks on his neck that he had seen in his dreams. He married Hoorab, believing that God had returned Aan to him.
Hoorab was living with her relatives where she fell in love with Asid, a spoiled young guy who treated her as a mere pastime. His mother also disliked Hoorab and treated her with disrespect, falsely accusing her of loose morals, despite knowing that her son was equally at fault for feigning love. Asid later genuinely fell in love with Hoorab, but since she was married to Muhadis, he committed suicide. His mother, previously an arrogant woman who mistreated others, especially Hoorab, subsequently suffered a mental breakdown.
In this novel, after the tragic death of Hoor, Messam was deeply saddened, but Hamiri’s love helped him to heal. This novel also depicts the downfall of several evil characters, whose children ultimately paid the price for their parents’ crimes. All these characters are intricately linked and have a significant impact on each other’s lives.
