Shiddat novel is the story of two generations within the same family who have faced the consequences of decisions made by a person in power and their impact on their lives and the lives of their children.

The story is based on tribal customs that still exist in some illiterate areas of Pakistan, such as Thar, where tribal lords act like kings, wielding absolute power with no one daring to oppose them. However, their luck eventually brings them to a humbling fate, as those who considered themselves gods become powerless against their own children.

This story also involves love stories that represent the passion of individuals who fall in love and fight against the world for their affections. Mansab Shah, a young, spoiled, and wealthy man from a well-respected feudal family, seeks thrills by kidnapping a girl named Mehar Bano and attempting to rape her.

His father intervenes to protect her, only to discover that she is his cousin, the daughter of his Chachu (uncle), who was exiled due to decisions made by his grandfather, Zulfiqar Shah. Zulfiqar Shah, revered as a holy person in the area, is secretly a greedy and ignorant man who exploits Islam for his own benefit.

Despite his actions, Mansab Shah falls in love with Mehar Bano, but she despises him for the trauma he inflicted upon her, especially after his friend, involved in the kidnapping, released the video of the incident on social media.

Aalam Shah, Mansab’s brother, is his opposite. He falls in love with a housemaid, a Mazarah, but his father and grandfather forbid their marriage due to her lower caste.

Shams Badar, a lord of fourteen different tribes and the most powerful person in the novel, had a complex childhood and youth. Despite his power, his father dictated his life, leading to decisions that had a lasting impact on his personality.

One such decision was forcing him to marry his brother’s thirty-year-old widow at the age of sixteen to protect the family’s property. Later, he falls in love with Alisha Chohan, the cousin and foster sister of Mansab and Aalam.

This novel is filled with complex relationships and unforgivable sins, leaving no escape except to accept the truth. It also exposes the cruelty of some tribal laws, their disregard for women’s will, and their tendency to treat women as mere possessions.
