Yeh Dil Aashiqana is primarily the story of two families, with several other characters revolving around them. The main character is Dawood, who is also nicknamed “Dado” at home. He is rude and constantly arguing, whether with his father or mother. His mother, Abeer, and his father, Muaz, belong to a middle-class family, but Dado aspires to be rich. To achieve this, he is attempting to pass the CSS exams. Having failed twice, he is now trying again. During this attempt, Muaz insists that he find a job, so Dado starts working as an English teacher at a college, where he meets Aena, one of his students, and falls in love with her.
Another storyline follows Murad and Fiza. Murad is Fiza’s boss, and Fiza is Dawood’s cousin. Their love story develops alongside the others in the novel.
Additionally, there is another couple, Sarim and Esha, and the last one, Sargul and Mishal. Sargul, Murad, Sarim, Aena, and Esha all belong to the same family and are cousins.
Mishal is a young girl whose mother was killed by her father. Seeking justice, she approaches Sargul, a lawyer, for help. However, Sargul is not a good person, he offers to take her case only if she spends a night with him. Murad discovers this and steps in to help Mishal, also warning Sargul not to harm her.
