Abr-e-Diyar is a story about old traditions in a Pashtun village. In this village, if a woman’s husband or fiancé dies, she is forced to live alone forever. She cannot marry again or take part in family events. Asfand, a young man from the powerful Shah family, sees this happen to his uncle’s widow. He speaks against it, but his family sends him abroad to stop him.

After many years, Asfand returns as a successful businessman. His cousin Azmar dies while talking to him on the phone, but the family thinks it was an accident. When Asfand comes back, he sees that Azmar’s fiancée, Abresham, is also forced to live in isolation. He decides to fight against these unfair traditions.

During this struggle, love stories also develop. Asfand’s friend Ahan falls in love with his sister Alisha. His cousins Zaroon and Sohaye also fall for each other. The novel is a mix of romance, mystery, and social issues, making it an interesting and emotional read.
