Teri Chah Mein is a fascinating novel that tells the story of Ibtehaj Laghari, a gangster who has just been released from prison after six years. His imprisonment was the result of a mistake made in anger against a rival gang. Upon his release, he accidentally meets Suleen, the owner of a successful hotel.

At the hotel, a woman named Gulshan Aaran, who works as the right hand of the city’s most powerful gangster, accidentally bumps into a waiter. Despite the mistake being hers, Gulshan demands Suleen fire the waiter. However, Suleen, who treats her employees like family, refuses and asserts that Gulshan was at fault. Angered by this, Gulshan attempts to have Suleen kidnapped. During the abduction attempt, Ibtehaj intervenes and protects Suleen. This marks their first meeting and the beginning of their love story.

Parallelly, the novel also follows the life of Dil Aawaiz, a young woman living with her maternal grandparents. After their death, she faces many hardships as her mother, who eloped years ago, sent Dil Aawaiz to her father and stepmother, claiming she was in financial trouble. While her grandparents accepted her, her grand-aunt and mother’s sister never did, constantly taunting her as the daughter of a runaway woman and predicting she would follow the same path.

Dil Aawaiz loves Sufiyan, her cousin and the son of her grand-aunt. Though he reciprocates her feelings, he fails to take a stand when his mother arranges her marriage to an already married man with a child. Her aunt’s decision was purely to get rid of Dil Aawaiz, unaware that Zoreen Shah, the man she is marrying off to, is a powerful businessman whose wealth sustains her husband’s business.

This novel is packed with action, romance, comedy, and a hero with a rude attitude. It also addresses social issues, such as the unfair treatment of innocent people due to personal biases and societal judgments. However, it beautifully conveys the message that God helps those with pure hearts and good intentions.
