Rag-e-Jaan Sy Qareeb Tar is a novel based on feudal lords who care only about their respect, ego, and the desire to always dominate others, without considering the well-being of anyone else. The story revolves around the Meran family, led by Aazmir, who becomes the head of the family after the death of his ancestors. Aazmir is young and similar in many ways to Zohan, his cousin and the fiancé of his sister. However, Zohan is not a good person—he drinks and visits brothels, prompting Aazmir to break off the engagement.
As feudal lords are highly sensitive about the women engaged to them, Zohan declares war against Aazmir and even kidnaps Zeeshan, who is Zanisha’s chosen groom. Both Aazmir and Zohan despise each other and constantly seek to harm one another in various ways.
To eliminate Aazmir, Zohan hires a prostitute, Haifa, who is not truly a prostitute. Haifa protects herself by mixing drugs in the alcohol of her clients. Zohan tasks Haifa with trapping Aazmir in her love, creating an opportunity for Zohan to attack him. However, Haifa is forced to accept this mission against her will because her sister, Marwa, is being held captive by Zohan’s men.
