Mein Hari Sajan is the story of Minahil, who falls in love with a boy named Hayim after meeting him through a wrong phone number. The two decide to run away and get married. However, Hayim is a fraudster who tricks girls into falling in love with him. He persuades them to steal money and jewelry from their homes under the pretense of starting a new life together.
Hayim uses the same tactic with Minahil, asking her to meet him at the train station with all the money and jewelry. Minahil, blinded by love, leaves her home and goes to the station. Once there, Hayim takes the valuables and abandons her. At home, Minahil’s parents discover her absence and are devastated. Her father, Jahangir, contacts his close friend Daniyal, whose son Arham is a police inspector, for help.
Meanwhile, at the train station, Minahil waits for Hayim for hours. When she learns from the ticket counter that the trains to Karachi have already departed, she leaves the station in despair. Outside, she gets into an accident with Arham, who has been searching for her. Arham takes her to his house for her safety.
Back home, Minahil’s father is overwhelmed with shame and despair, contemplating suicide over the disgrace brought upon the family. Daniyal, deeply concerned for his friend Jahangir, suggests a solution: Arham should marry Minahil to restore the family’s honor.
Arham, who is already engaged to his love, Rija, is heartbroken but agrees to the marriage under his father’s emotional pressure and request. He reluctantly marries Minahil, despite having no affection for her. Minahil, too, feels trapped, as she realizes she has been abandoned by her lover.
