Heartless is the story of Virk, who is born under tragic circumstances. His father, Khizar, betrayed his mother by taking her away from her home and selling her to a brothel. She had run away with him, trusting his love, only to face this horrific betrayal. Later, Virk’s mother contracted a severe illness and, sensing her end was near, called Khizar to reveal that Virk was his son, presenting him with DNA evidence. She threatened to go to the police if he did not take responsibility for Virk.
Khizar, already married with three children, reluctantly brought Virk into his house. However, he treated him cruelly, refusing to feed him and sending him to work at a mechanic’s shop. Tragically, Virk’s hardships only worsened when someone tricked him into carrying drugs. Starving and desperate, he confessed to the police that the drugs were his, leading to his imprisonment.
In jail, Virk met Inspector Hassan, who discovered his innocence and took him under his wing. Inspector Hassan helped Virk get an education and supported him in rebuilding his life. Despite his efforts, Virk’s misfortune continued, and he repeatedly found himself entangled in criminal cases. Eventually, he became an undercover informant for the police, infiltrating criminal gangs.
Later, Virk moved to Dubai to escape his past and start anew. Inspector Hassan assigned him a critical mission, to locate girls who had been kidnapped from Pakistan and smuggled to Dubai. During this mission, Virk encountered Parizay, an orphan suffering from cancer and desperately seeking work to afford her treatment. She had been abducted by the traffickers while traveling alone at night.
Another significant character in the story is Rohi, the daughter of Khizar’s cousin. Rohi started living with Khizar’s family after losing her parents. As children, Rohi and Virk bonded over their shared hardships, and Virk developed deep feelings for her. However, due to his troubled life spent mostly in jail and away from home, Rohi eventually forgot him. Virk, on the other hand, never stopped thinking about her. He traveled to Dubai upon hearing that Rohi had married someone living there.
